Castlefest 2007

A while ago I registered  with http://www.last.fm and installed their software, that allows me to enter the name of an artist for example and provide you with an audio stream of similar music by this artist, but also by other artists. The client also comes with a plugin for Windows Media player and iTunes. Based on the music you listen to, last.fm provides suggestions for 'local' events/concerts that you might be interested in.

My taste in music runs from medieval, to doom/death metal (and pretty much anything in between with the exception to house).

Last.fm had suggested Castlefest to me because of a dutch band called Rapalje was playing there (they play irish (inspired) folksy music), I had not heard of any of the other bands that were playing there, nor did I have any idea of what I would find there.

In the end I managed to miss the Rapalje concert, thanks to rather limited capacity for dealing with accidents of the dutch highways

Turned out that a lot of people that attended were dressed for the occasion:

A picture named M2

Saw a lot of interesting people and listened to some pretty good performances by:

Faun, Gor, Mediaeval Baebes and Omnia.

During Omnia's concert the burning of the 'Wicker Woman', dedicated to Vana, the goddess of spring took place.
